Excerpt from "The SEMA Show", ODS March 2007

If you haven’t heard, the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show is the premier automotive specialty products trade show. It showcases the hottest products at the Las Vegas Convention Center and just happened this fall. Vendors numbered more than 100,000 from over 100 countries on two million square feet of exhibits. The new products showcase featured more than 2,000 newly introduced parts alone!

Here a some of the highlights from the show ~

WHEELS

The hottest thing at the show and all that everyone is talking about are the new hefty clear polycarbonate Forgiato wheels from DVinci (see our article on RIMS in this edition). Each rim costs a measly 2K which is not much when you are buying the hottest thing on the market. You’ll need to spend extra time and dough to keep them clean from nasty disc brake dust.

Asanti’s new 30-inch rim took home honors too. And while some find it unattractive, you may find that your Hummer may be just the home for these oversized behemoth wheels.

Special kudos go to the ATR Group for building carbon fiber wheels. They say in two years we can see these lightweight wheels on production cars. Although they won’t be cheap, they will give you an edge on performance.
